Free CSV Viewer — Sortable, Searchable Table Preview

View any CSV file as a clean, sortable table right in your browser. Upload a file or paste data, and the viewer parses it with full support for quoted fields, escaped quotes, and embedded newlines. Click column headers to sort, type to search, and download the result — no spreadsheet software required.

Smart Parsing

The delimiter is auto-detected (comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe), empty rows are removed, and ragged rows are padded so the table stays rectangular. First-row-as-header mode keeps your column names clean, while the header toggle handles headerless data.

100% Local & Private

Parsing, sorting, and filtering happen entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device, making this viewer safe for confidential spreadsheets — and it works fully offline.

Frequently Asked Questions About the CSV Viewer

How do I load a CSV file into the viewer?

Click the Upload .csv button and choose a file, drag and drop a file anywhere onto the page, or simply paste CSV text directly into the text area. The table renders instantly and everything is parsed locally in your browser.

How does the CSV parser handle commas inside quotes?

It follows the standard RFC-style rules: fields wrapped in double quotes may contain commas, quotes (escaped as ""), and even newlines. Only unquoted commas split cells, so data like "Smith, John" stays in one column. This matters for files exported from Excel or Google Sheets.

Can I sort the table?

Yes — click any column header to sort ascending, click again for descending, and a third click clears the sort. Numeric-looking values are compared numerically while text uses locale-aware comparison, so "10" sorts after "9" instead of before it.

What does "First row is header" do?

When enabled, the first row becomes the column headers and is excluded from the data rows. When disabled, every row is treated as data and columns are labelled Column 1, Column 2, and so on. Header names are trimmed and blank headers are given automatic names.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. CSV parsing, sorting, and filtering all happen entirely in your browser. The tool works offline, and your data never leaves your device — which makes it safe for confidential spreadsheets.

How can I export the sorted or filtered view?

Use the Copy CSV button to copy the current table (headers plus all parsed rows) to the clipboard, or Download to save it as a .csv file you can open in Excel or any spreadsheet app.
