JSON Input

Paste JSON or upload a file to convert it to CSV. The output updates live.

Free JSON → CSV Converter

Turn JSON data into CSV for Excel, Google Sheets, and data tools. Paste an array of objects and watch the CSV output update live, with proper escaping so it reopens perfectly anywhere. Choose comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe delimiters, toggle the header row, or force-quote every cell.

Built for Real-World Data

Exporting an API response to a spreadsheet is a daily task for analysts and developers. The converter flattens objects to rows, preserves key order, and keeps nested values readable as embedded JSON — no data silently dropped.

Private & Offline

Everything happens in your browser. Copy the CSV or download it as a file — no uploads, no servers, fully offline.

Frequently Asked Questions About the JSON → CSV Converter

What JSON shapes can be converted?

Three shapes are accepted: an array of objects (the most common), an array of arrays, or a single object. Array of objects becomes one CSV row per object with the union of all keys as columns. Nested objects or arrays inside a value are stringified as JSON into a single cell.

How are the CSV columns chosen?

Keys are collected in the order they first appear across all objects, so the header order follows your data. If the "Include header row" option is off, only the data rows are written — useful when you want to append to an existing file.

How is escaping handled?

Cells containing the delimiter, a double quote, or a newline are wrapped in double quotes and embedded quotes are doubled, following the standard CSV rules. This guarantees the file reopens correctly in Excel, Google Sheets, and other tools. You can also enable "Quote all cells" to force-quote everything.

What if my JSON is invalid?

The tool parses your input first and shows a clear error with the JSON parser message when it fails. Empty arrays and mixed shapes (some objects, some arrays) also produce specific, helpful messages instead of silently breaking.

Is this converter private and offline?

Yes. JSON parsing and CSV generation happen entirely in your browser with no upload, so it is safe for confidential data and works fully offline. The result can be copied or downloaded as a .csv file.

Can I pick a different delimiter?

Yes — comma, semicolon, tab, and pipe are supported. Semicolons and tabs are useful for regional spreadsheet locales that do not treat commas as separators.
