Stickman Walking Race — Free Mash-to-Run Multiplayer Game

Race your stickman down the track in this frantic, freetwo-player running race. Every tap of a key or button makes your runner sprint forward — the faster you mash, the faster you go, and the combo systemrewards a steady rhythm with bursts of extra speed.

Play Online or Locally

Challenge a friend across the internet with a private room code, or sit side by side and go head-to-head on one keyboard. A 3·2·1·GO countdown kicks off every race, live progress bars track both runners, and the winner gets a confetti-worthy fanfare.

Fair, Private, and Free

Your own stickman is simulated locally, so there is no input lag in online play. Online matches use direct WebRTC connections, local matches need no internet at all, and the sounds are synthesized in-browser — nothing is uploaded, tracked, or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Stickman Walking Race

How does the Stickman Walking Race work?

Two stickmen race down a track to the finish line. You make your runner go by tapping a key or button as fast as you can — every tap advances your stickman a random distance. Rapid tapping builds a combo that adds a speed bonus, so rhythm matters as much as raw speed.

How do I play against a friend online?

Tap "Create Room" to host and share the short room code (like UXV-K3M2) with your friend, who joins with it. Once connected, the host starts the race and both players mash their own Space bar (or the on-screen MASH button) from their own device. Each runner is simulated locally for zero lag on your own character, and positions sync instantly over the peer-to-peer connection.

Can two people play on one keyboard?

Yes — "Local 2-Player" mode lets Player 1 mash the W key while Player 2 mashes the O key (there are also big on-screen buttons for each player). It works fully offline and is perfect for couch competitions.

What is the combo system?

Tapping again within a short window keeps your combo going and adds a little bonus speed on top of each tap. If you slow down, the combo resets. It rewards fast, steady mashing and makes the race feel tense right up to the finish line.

Is the race fair in online mode?

Yes. Each player's runner advances based only on their own taps — the game never moves your stickman for you. Your own runner is simulated locally so there is no input lag, and the opponent's position arrives over WebRTC as they tap. The first runner to cross the finish line wins, and photo finishes are detected and shown as a draw if both cross within a hair of each other.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. In online mode a big MASH button appears under the track that you can hammer with your thumb. In local mode each player gets their own tap button. The track and stickmen are drawn on a responsive canvas that scales to any screen.

Where do the sounds come from? Does it need internet?

All sounds — the tap ticks, countdown beeps, GO call, and victory fanfare — are synthesized live with the Web Audio API. Nothing is downloaded. Local mode works completely offline; online mode only needs a connection for the initial room handshake and syncing between players.
