How to use Password GeneratorShow
  1. 1Set the length (8–64) and tick the character sets you want — upper, lower, digits, symbols.
  2. 2Toggle Exclude ambiguous characters to drop lookalikes like 0/O and 1/l/I.
  3. 3The entropy meter estimates how hard the password is to brute-force — aim for 80+ bits.
  4. 4Copy the password, or close the dialog after it auto-clears from the screen.

Free Password Generator — Create Strong, Random Passwords

Welcome to the UtilixVerse password generator. Generate cryptographically strong passwords instantly with full control over length, character types, and exclusions. Every password is produced using the browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API — nothing is stored, logged, or transmitted. Perfect for creating secure passwords for email, banking, social media, and every online account.

Why Use a Password Generator?

Humans are terrible at creating random passwords — we favour patterns, dictionary words, and predictable substitutions like "P@ssw0rd". A cryptographic generator produces truly random strings that resist brute-force and dictionary attacks. NIST SP 800-63B recommends passwords of at least 12 characters with maximum entropy. Our generator makes this effortless.

Password Strength at a Glance

8 chars — lowercase only~3 bits/char = 24 bits
12 chars — mixed case + digits~6 bits/char = 72 bits
16 chars — all character classes~6 bits/char = 96 bits
20 chars — all classes + symbols~6.5 bits/char = 130 bits

At 80 bits of entropy, a GPU cluster would need centuries to brute-force your password.

Customisation Options

  • → Length slider — set password length from 4 to 128 characters
  • → Character toggles — independently enable uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols
  • → Ambiguous exclusions — remove similar-looking characters (0/O, 1/l/I) for readability
  • → Batch generation — create multiple passwords at once for bulk account creation

Tips for Strong Passwords

  1. 1. Use at least 16 characters — length matters more than complexity.
  2. 2. Enable all character types — uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols maximize entropy.
  3. 3. Use a different password for every account — a password manager helps.
  4. 4. Never reuse passwords across sites — one breach compromises all accounts.

100% private — passwords never leave your browser. No registration, no logging, no tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions About Password Generator

How are passwords generated?

The tool uses the browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API to produce cryptographically secure random bytes, then maps them to your chosen character set (uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols). Each selection is independent and unpredictable.

What length should I choose?

NIST recommends a minimum of 12 characters for online accounts. For maximum security, 16–20 characters is ideal. Longer passwords are exponentially harder to crack — each additional character multiplies the search space.

Should I include symbols and uppercase letters?

Yes — mixing uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols dramatically increases entropy. A 16-character password with all character classes has over 95 bits of entropy, making brute-force attacks practically infeasible.

Are generated passwords stored anywhere?

No — passwords are created and displayed entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored, logged, or transmitted to any server. Once you leave the page, the generated password is gone unless you copy it.

How to Use the Password Generator

Generate strong random passwords with full control over length and character types, plus an entropy readout so you can see exactly how hard each password is to crack. Everything runs locally using the Web Crypto API.

Step-by-Step

  1. 1Set the length (16+ is the sensible default) and tick which character sets to include.
  2. 2Generate — every password uses cryptographically secure randomness.
  3. 3Copy it to the clipboard; the generator remembers nothing.
Tip: Use a long passphrase (see Diceware) for master passwords where you must type them by hand — a 6-word passphrase beats a shorter random string at half the memorization cost.
