Free Study Timer — Track Your Focus Sessions

The UtilixVerse Study Timer turns "I studied for a while" into hard data. Start thefocus timer, optionally set a goal with a live progress bar, name yoursubject, and save each session to your private study log. A 7-day chart andper-subject breakdown show exactly where your study time goes — all offline, all on your own device.

Why Tracking Beats Guessing

Students consistently overestimate how long they study. A study log fixes that: with real minutes behind each subject you can plan realistically, spot subjects you are neglecting, and see your weekly trend at a glance. The timer counts real elapsed time, so even tab-switching won't inflate your numbers.

Pair It With Pomodoro

For structured sprints, use the Pomodoro Timer (25 minutes of focus + breaks). For open-ended sessions, use the Study Timer to measure and log the total. Together they cover both styles of deep work.

Private, Offline, and Free

Your sessions live only in your browser's localStorage — nothing is uploaded, no account is needed, and the tool works completely offline. A genuinely free and private study timer for students.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Study Timer

How does the study timer work?

Press Start and the timer counts up, showing your focused time in H:MM:SS. Set an optional goal in minutes (with a progress bar), label the session with a subject, and press "Save Session" when you finish. Every saved session is added to your private local log with a 7-day chart and per-subject breakdown.

What is the difference between the Study Timer and the Pomodoro Timer?

The Study Timer counts UP and is great for open-ended focus sessions you want to measure and log. The Pomodoro Timer counts DOWN through fixed 25-minute focus and break intervals to structure your day into sprints. Many students use both: Pomodoro for structure, the Study Timer to log total hours.

Where is my study history saved?

All sessions are saved in your browser’s localStorage — they stay on your own device and are never uploaded anywhere. Your log persists between visits, and you can clear it at any time with the "Clear Log" button.

Can I track multiple subjects?

Yes. Type a subject name before saving each session, then use the "By Subject" breakdown to see total minutes per subject, sorted from most to least studied — perfect for spotting subjects that need more attention.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer is based on real elapsed time, so it stays accurate even if you switch tabs or minimize the window. Note that it measures wall-clock time, so pausing your device’s sleep behavior is on the OS.

Is this study timer free and private?

Yes. It is 100% free with no registration, works fully offline, and keeps every session private on your device. No data ever leaves your browser.
