Remove Empty Lines

It scans your pasted text and removes blank lines, so you get a tighter, cleaner block of text. This is useful for cleaning up copied documents, config files, log output, CSV exports, and code snippets that are padded with unnecessary empty lines.

An empty line contains no characters at all. A whitespace-only line contains only spaces or tabs — it looks blank but has invisible characters. The "Whitespace-only lines" option (on by default) treats both as blank. Turn it off if you want to keep lines that contain spaces, which can matter for fixed-width formats and indentation-sensitive files.

Instead of removing every blank line, it keeps a single blank line as a separator between blocks and removes the extra ones. This is ideal for documents or code where a single empty line between paragraphs or functions looks right, but double or triple spacing does not. The collapsed extras are reported in the statistics panel.

It strips trailing whitespace from the end of every line you keep. Many editors and linters flag trailing spaces as a style issue, and they can also break diff comparisons. Enabling this option cleans them up in the same pass while keeping leading indentation untouched.
